Comoros Passport Photos and Visa Photo Requirements – Rules, Guidelines, and Specifications

While the list of Comoros passport photo requirements above is complete, we feel it is necessary to expand on a few of them. Maybe you do not know this, but an inadequate passport photo is often the cause for rejection, and we do not want that to happen to you. The information below should help you avoid such a situation.

  • Selecting the right environment in which to take your passport photo is essential. Find a white wall in your home and use it as a background. If you do not have such a wall, you can take a white sheet and hang it on a wall. That should do the trick. Remember that the background must be plain white with no colors, patterns, or shadows.
  • Position your camera at eye level and keep your head straight. Do not tilt or rotate it at any angle. Portrait-style photographs are rejected because both sides of your face must be equally visible.
  • You are not allowed to appear smiling in your passport photo or visa photo. You can neither frown nor raise your eyebrows. For the ideal result, relax your face when taking the picture to achieve a neutral facial expression.
  • Your eyes should be pointed directly at the camera, and they cannot be obstructed in any way. You cannot wear sunglasses or glasses with tinted lenses. If you have spectacles with large frames, take them off for the picture. In case you keep your glasses on, make sure that there is no glare in the photograph.
  • The light in the room in which you decide to take your passport photo must not be too bright or too dark. Make sure that the source of light is right in front of you so that there are no shadows on your face.
  • You can keep your headwear for your passport photo or visa photo, but only if your religion does not permit you to keep your head uncovered. That is the only exception. And even then, you have to ensure that your face is perfectly visible from the top of your forehead to the bottom of your chin and from ear to ear.
  • You are allowed to appear with a beard in your passport photo or visa photo, but only as long as it represents your usual likeness. Any changes you may want to make regarding your beard must be made before taking the picture.

Rules and Requirements for Babies, Infants, and Newborn Passport and Visa Photos

It is common knowledge that children of all ages require their own passports and visas. You can take your child’s photo at home as well. It is no different from an adult’s photo, except that a child’s head can appear smaller in the picture. The advice below should help with the process of taking your child’s passport photo or visa photo.

  • Kids should be awake when they have their picture taken.
  • Photographing your child in a car seat means that you have to cover the backrest of the seat with a white sheet.
  • Some parents choose to take the picture from above while the child lays on his/her back. If you want to do that, remember to put a white sheet/blanket underneath the child. All background rules apply to children’s passport photos and visa photos as well.
  • Only the child can appear in the photo, so if you want to hold him/her, make sure that no part of you is visible.
  • Remove hats and pacifiers when taking the photo of a baby.
